How we check listings
Dog Wash Stations lists places where you wash your own dog: you bring the dog, they provide the tub, the water and usually the shampoo and dryer.
Where the facts come from
Every listing comes from the business's own website: a chain's store page, or the shop's own site. We read the store page, the dog wash page and the price list, and link each one under "Sources" on the listing. We republish facts (address, phone, hours, prices, what is provided) in our own words or short quotes, never descriptions or photos.
For chains we work from the chain's own lists. Tractor Supply's Colorado store list shows which stores have a Pet Wash Center, Chuck & Don's publishes its self-wash stores, and we opened all 34 Petco store pages in Colorado to find the four with a self-serve wash.
Other dog wash directories helped us find places we might have missed. We never copy their facts: a place is listed only once we can read it on the business's own pages.
Map positions come from OpenStreetMap. We look up each listing's street address, or the business itself, and keep the point only when it falls in the listing's county; a listing we can't place that way has no position. Positions are used to list other dog washes nearby by distance, and to sort places by distance from you when you tap Near me. The position your browser shares is used only on your device, to sort the list. It is not sent to us or to anyone else, and it is not stored. Map positions © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL).
What gets listed
- Self-serve dog wash (22): dedicated shop, salon or daycare with self-wash tubs.
- Pet store dog wash (62): self-serve wash inside a pet or feed store.
- Car wash dog bay (12): dog wash bay at a car wash.
- Dog wash kiosk (1): standalone unattended dog wash kiosk.
Groomers that only wash dogs for you are left out, and so are places that stopped offering a self-serve tub.
Dates, gaps and corrections
Each listing shows the date we last read its sources, most recently November 2, 2026. Prices and hours change, so we re-check every listing at least every three months.
When a business's pages leave something out or contradict themselves (two prices on one page, hours dated 2023), the listing says so in a "Call ahead" note rather than guessing. 63 of 97 listings have one today.
Hours at pet stores and car washes are often the store's hours. Where a business says its wash closes earlier, the listing tells you.
Some places we know about aren't listed yet because their websites couldn't be read. We would rather list fewer places than list one we can't confirm.

Dog Wash Stations is not run by, paid by or affiliated with any pet store, car wash or brand listed here. Nobody pays to be listed or to appear first.
